Deusto Rector José María Guibert, the new leader of the Aristos Campus Mundus project, Campus of International Excellence

The rectors of the universities of Deusto, Comillas and Ramon Llull met on 29 February at the University of Deusto. The meeting took place within the framework of the Aristos Campus Mundus project, Campus of International Excellence. At the encounter, Deusto Rector José María Guibert, took over as leader of this strategic partnership formed by the three universities. This initiative began in 2010 with an agreement reached with the U.S. universities of Georgetown, Boston College and Fordham.

The Action Plan for 2016 was approved at the meeting. Said plan includes implementation of a joint Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, separate proposals for a Master’s programme with the University of Fordham and a PhD programme in Social Work ACM, development of the INSIDE Spain 2016 programme, Summer School in Barcelona, the second ACM call for research proposals, the international research programme with stays at the universities of Georgetown, Fordham and Boston College, development of the Visiting Scholar Program , the inclusive education forum, the fourth edition of the ACM Cooperation Awards, the international summer volunteering programme and the organisation of different meetings throughout the year on inclusive education, education innovation, cooperation, research ethics…

Together with Rector José María Guibert, other participants attending the meeting were Josep Maria Garrell, Rector of Ramon Llull University and Julio Martínez, Rector of Comillas Pontifical University as well as a large group of vice-rectors and heads of the different departments from the three universities.
